Guardian Life Technical Implementation & QA Specialist – Life Illustrations System Integration in New York, New York

Guardian is seeking a Technical Implementation & QA Specialist to join the Individual Life and Annuity Product, Implementation Team. Working with a team of professionals, you will contribute to the ongoing development of Guardian’s state-of-the-art, mission-critical illustration system, the Guardian Proposal System (GPS). You will be responsible for identifying illustration integration data needs and designing solutions to meet those needs to further grow our digital transformation and consumer-centric strategies. You will

Support the implementation of enhancements to our in-force illustration policy data feeds and enhancements to other critical illustration integration functionality (e.g., eApplication, eIssue, Living Balance Sheet, InsMark; etc.) by:

  • Collaborating with colleagues in IT, Product Development, Policy Administration/Operations, and Compliance, as well as with our illustration software vendor (iPipeline) in both the planning and implementation phases

  • Defining project scope, creating or contributing to project plans, and documenting business systems requirement

  • Developing, reviewing, & contributing to the creation & execution of detailed test plans to ensure that illustration integration requirements align with business need

  • Maintaining system end-user documentation and business rule

  • Developing or employing Excel based tools to verify data passed to/from 3rd party application integration

  • Identifying, reporting, and reconciling system defects on a timely basis

  • Evolving the team’s best practices for requirements documentation & system testing

  • Transparently communicating status on current projects and initiatives on a regular basis

  • Participating in the after business hours testing of our quarterly software production deployments

Serve our Internal & External Customer by:

  • Providing consultation and technology assistance to Home Office colleagues and field representatives for GPS in force illustration access and GPS interface support.

  • Providing cross training and knowledge sharing to ensure the team’s continuous growth & development

  • Serving as a back-up to the Illustration Interface Project Manager and other teammates

  • Proactively managing and maintaining in force policy test data for the illustration testing team

  • Troubleshooting complex technical problems with a sense of urgency

You have

  • Excellent analytical, technical troubleshooting, problem-solving, communication, & organizational skills with the proven ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate information & data with attention to detail and accuracy

  • Experience writing business systems requirements and performing quality assurance testing

  • Experience working with cross-functional teams in a hybrid environment

  • Advanced Proficiency with Microsoft Excel

  • Strong customer focus

Nice to have

  • Experience with relational databases using SQL query language skills via Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio 17

  • Familiarity with Application Programming Interface’s (API’s) using JSON, Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio 17, Postman, NotePad++, ACORD Life & Annuity XML Standards, Excel, Word and Beyond Compare

  • Project Management experience

Reporting Relationships

  • As our Senior Business Analyst, you will report to the Head of Life & Annuity Illustrations, and you will partner with, and have a dotted line reporting relationship to, the Illustrations Integration Project Manager to carry out project assignments

Salary Range

$66,130.00 - $108,640.00

The salary range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the primary location of the position. The salary for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate. In addition to salary, this role may also be eligible for annual, sales, or other incentive compensation.
