Job Title: Tax Accountant
Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Tax Accountant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and managing moderate to complex tax returns, including federal and state filings, for multi-state and multi-source income. Expected to work closely with high net worth clients.
Responsibilities
Prepare moderate to complex tax returns (federal/state) for multi-state and multi-source income.
Prepare forecasts and reconciliations of tax returns.
Utilize QuickBooks for general ledger work and tax write-ups.
Review and analyze tax files to compile and organize client tax data for tax return processing.
Draft responses to notices from tax authorities.
Conduct tax audits.
Maintain the tax calendar.
Communicate with clients to obtain documentation for tax return processing.
Field phone calls from clients and address questions regarding necessary documentation for tax return filings.
Essential Skills
Proficiency in tax preparation and accounting.
Experience with tax returns, reconciliation, and tax audits.
Knowledge of CCH ProSystem fx Tax and QuickBooks.
Strong skills in Microsoft Excel.
At least 2 years of experience in accounting and tax preparation.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Licensed NY CPA or CPA candidate.
2-3+ years of experience in a qualified accounting or tax preparation firm.
Experience preparing moderate to complex corporate, partnership, and individual returns.
Work Environment
The position requires working 5 days in the office from 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM. The dress code is business casual. The office is located near Bryant Park, providing a vibrant and convenient location.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $130000.00/yr.
Medical paid for, 4% 401k match, 15 days of PTO immediately accrued and available after 3 months to use
