New York University Study Recruitment Manager in New York, New York
The Center for Policy, Research, and Evaluation at NYU Steinhardt’s Metropolitan Center for Research on Equity and the Transformation of Schools (NYU Metro Center) is seeking a recruitment manager to join a study that will explore how a community-based civic leadership initiative for parents/caregivers and their children--the Children’s Leadership Training Institute (CLTI) and the Parent Leadership Training Institute (PLTI)--can disrupt power inequities to influence educational systems and institutions.
The recruitment manager will support recruiting approximately 300 parent-child pairs into the study and retaining their participation over three waves of data collection. Parents and children will be recruited from up to 12 sites throughout the U.S. that offer CLTI and PLTI.
The applicant must be interested in being part of a team of researchers and can demonstrate the ability and/or interest in working in multiethnic, multicultural environments. The successful candidate will be committed to the success of NYU Metro Center projects and to an environment that acknowledges, encourages, and celebrates diversity and differences. Preference will be given to individuals with the following experiences and qualifications:
Experience working with families, particularly families from diverse racial, socioeconomic, and cultural backgrounds
Experience with recruitment and engagement, whether research- or program-related
Excellent organizational skills
Excellent communication skills
Highly self-directed
Schedule that affords flexibility to work the number of hours described above during the given months (Please do not apply if you do not have this flexibility).
Spanish fluency a plus
Duties will include:
Reach out to families (by email, texting, phone) to invite them to participate in survey and follow up as needed
Design and implement strategies to connect with families in between survey waves to support study retention
Follow up at all three waves of data collection with families who don’t complete the survey - Answer questions from families about the study or refer families to project staff
Maintain database of study participants
Support PLTI site coordinators with study recruitment, as needed, and send regular updates on recruitment progress
Meet regularly with NYU study team
Compensation:
$30/hr; 10 hours per week
