JOB TITLE : Sr Manager HR Data Engineer

SALARY RANGE : $140,000 - $155,000

HAY POINTS : 775

LOCATION : 2 Broadway New York, NY 10004

HOURS OF WORK : 9:00 am - 5:30 pm (7 1/2 hours/day)

This position is eligible for telework which is currently one day per week. New hires are eligible to apply 30 days after their effective date of hire.

SUMMARY : This position will partner with HR business sponsors/partners, analytics teams, IT and engineering teams to design, build, and maintain ease for using data structures to facilitate reporting, monitoring, and key performance indicators. The incumbent will serve as the key contact to collaborate across Human Capital Management disciplines to identify internal/external data sources to design table structure, cleanse all People data inconsistencies, define ETL strategy, automated quality assurance checks, deploy data conversion migrations, and implement scalable ETL solutions. This position is also expected to oversee and contribute on trouble shooting all HR system and data issues.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Leads data projects that will enable the People division to continually improve processes by identifying, sharing, implementing the best practices within and across departments. Act as team leader of various data projects and participates on teams implementing new improvement processes.

  • Partner with technical and non-technical colleagues to understand data and reporting requirements.

  • Develop HR data pipelines with advance Azure Data Factory, Delta Live Tables, SQL programming language, Python, Rest API and maintain Data Warehousing/Data Lakes/Data Hubs and Analytical reporting Environment.

  • Work with IT teams to collect required data from internal and external systems and troubleshooting all HR system and data issues.

  • Design table structures and define ETL strategy to build performant Data solutions that are reliable and scalable in a fast-growing data ecosystem.

  • Develop Data Quality checks for source and target data sets and UAT plans and conduct QA.

  • Develop and maintain data pipeline routines using ETL and orchestration tools such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Data Stage, Airflow, Luigi, and Jenkins.

  • Develop and maintain dashboards/reports using MS Power BI and Oracle Analytic Cloud

  • Coach and mentor team members to improve their designs and ETL processes.

  • Automate manual processes, optimize data delivery, understand when to re-design architecture for greater scalability.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Minimum of five (5) years of work experience implementing and reporting business key performance indicators in data warehousing environments.

  • Strong understanding of data modeling principles, including Dimensional modeling, data normalization principles, etc.

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience using Azure Data Factory, Delta Live Tables, Python, SQL for analytics, working with traditional relational databases and/or distributed systems such as Azure Databricks, Azure Storage, Rest API, PeopleSoft Enterprise Performance Management (EPM), Hadoop / Hive, Big Query, Redshift, or Oracle Databases.

  • Proficient understanding of SQL Engines and able to develop advanced quires and analytics

  • Familiarity with data exploration/data visualization tools like Tableau, MS Power BI, PeopleSoft EPM, Web Focus, Oracle Business Intelligence, or Oracle Analytics Cloud.

  • Ability to think strategically, analyze and interpret Human Capital Management and Financial data.

  • Strong communication skills – written and verbal presentations.

  • Excellent conceptual and analytical reasoning competencies.

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced and highly collaborative environment.

  • Process-oriented with excellent documentation skills, including strong Excel & PowerPoint skills, Visio flows, and mock-up creation.

  • Understanding of Finance Data and Human Resource Data practices and procedures.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Management, Statistics, or Finance with a minimum of five (5) years of relevant professional experience leading, implementing, and reporting on business key performance indicators in a data warehousing/lake/hub environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Minimum of three (6) years management experience

    PREFERRED :
  • Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Management, or Statistics

  • Experience programming languages (e.g., Python, R) preferred.
