Fitch Inc Senior Software Engineer, React in New York, New York
We are seeking a Senior Software Developer to join our team for a key initiative of an internal web application based on event-driven architecture. The ideal candidate should be highly skilled in React as well as experience in full stack Java development.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Work as part of an agile team in design, development and deployment of enterprise-scale web applications
- Work with product owners and business analysts to understand business requirements and provide technical solutions.
- Build an internal portal application using React, micro-frontend, micro-services and event-driven architecture
- Build Java micro-services to support the frontend and produce / consume Kafka topics
- Work with DevOps and other squads on the CI/CD pipeline
- Follow the well-architected software development and security practices
- Get familiar with various domain datastores such as Oracle, MongoDB or Appian Cloud database
- Recommend and mentor the team on React and micro-frontend developments
- Provide support on production issues
Required Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of Javascript and React
- 5 years of experience with React, Java and Spring Framework
- Strong in CSS, HTML and web application development knowledge
- Experience with micro-frontend development
- Experience with Bitbucket, Bamboo and JIRA
- Experience working in an Agile development team
- Experience with relational database technologies such as Oracle, PostgreSQL or MySQL
- Strong understanding of software development principles and design patterns
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Self-motivated, a team player and a quick learner
- Bachelor's degree in CS or comparable
Preferred Skills:
- Familiar with AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, EKS or Elasticsearch
- Familiar with Kafka
- Familiar with MongoDB

FOR NEW YORK ROLES ONLY: Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $125, 000 and $140, 000 per year. Actual salaries will be determined on an individualized basis and may vary based on factors including but not limited to education, training, experience, past performance, and other job-related factors. Base pay is one part of Fitch's total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, long-term incentives, and other benefits sponsored by Fitch.
