Amazon Senior Software Development Engineer, SDKs Release Platform | AWS SDKs and Tools in New York, New York

Description

Join the AWS SDKs org and help up in our goal to deliver quality open source SDKs to customers. You will work on tools that integrate with GitHub, internal tools, and multiple AWS services including CloudFormation, S3, SQS, SNS, Step Functions, Code Build, Lambda, and more. We are building the internal tools to help manage build, test, and publishing of SDKs on a daily basis. We build using the AWS CDK (infrastructure as code) and are building tools to support 13+ SDK teams.

Our Organization

The AWS SDKs and Tools are the gateway to the 300+ AWS services, used by developers and operations teams around the world. The mission of the AWS SDK and Tools org is to simplify the use of AWS for developers by providing idiomatic, reliable, and performant client libraries in the most popular programming languages. We achieve this by (1) supporting all AWS APIs and service features on the day they launch (2) collaborating with service teams to provide the best possible experience for our customers (3) building automation and tooling to keep up with the pace of AWS (4) constantly validating our assumptions that we're building the right tools for customers.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

  • 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience

  • 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

  • Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $134,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $261,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
