Robert Half Senior Financial Analyst in New York, New York

Description

A leading media and entertainment organization is seeking a Senior Financial Accounting Analyst to support subscription revenue accounting and reporting for multiple digital streaming platforms. This role is part of the controllership team and will focus on financial close activities, revenue processes, audit support, and process improvement initiatives.

Location: Remote (EST hours required; preference for candidates based in NY or CT)

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute month-end and quarter-end close procedures, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis

  • Prepare and review partner summaries to support monthly and quarterly validations and true-ups

  • Manage the licensing payment process, including compiling quarterly accruals and processing payments to collecting societies

  • Oversee accounting for gift card sales and redemptions across multiple regions

  • Support manual revenue accruals, billings, and adjustments as needed

  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and audit requirements

  • Contribute to internal and external audit efforts, including SOX and third-party audits

  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes and implement automation where possible

  • Collaborate across teams to communicate challenges and resolve issues efficiently

  • Follow standard operating procedures and support process documentation

  • Assist with special projects and cross-functional initiatives as assigned

•Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field, or 5+ years of relevant experience

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial statements

  • Intermediate Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, and large data analysis)

  • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills

  • Effective written and verbal communication abilities

  • Proven ability to assess risks and maintain compliance with control standards

  • CPA preferred
