Amazon Senior Financial Analyst, Ads Marketing in New York, New York

The Amazon Advertising team seeks a Senior Financial Analyst to join its finance department to support the Advertising Marketing team. The role will work closely with finance and business teams to validate financial results for Marketing investments, measure the effectiveness of those investments, and drive controllership. The ideal candidate enjoys diving deep into complex problems, works effectively with cross-functional teams and thrives in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. The role has regular interaction with various businesses across Amazon and therefore requires strong organizational, project management, and communication skills.

Key job responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities:

• Controllership of Marketing investment, understanding actuals, challenging variances and tracking action plans to bring financial results back to plan when necessary

• Active business partner to drive decisions on where to invest for Marketing initiatives

• Produce and analyze performance metrics to establish and measure business goals

• Partner closely with the Marketing Team to provide financial support as we find and attract new digital advertisers and deepen our insights on how to improve advertiser retention

• Coordinate and help drive the monthly and quarterly Business Review process

• Manage quarterly forecast, annual plan and long range plan of the business

• Participate in projects that drive efficiency or quality

A day in the life

The Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for creating key performance indicators, analyzing Marketing strategy to maximize revenue, and providing financial guidance for prioritization and decision-making. This position will collaborate with Marketing business leaders on a daily basis and will be contributing to overall financial modeling and analysis during requirements planning and business reviews.

We are part of the Marketing Finance team, a mix of data engineers, economists, and finance professionals that all work together to help drive our advertising business forward.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience

  • Experience in financial modeling, P&L management or analysis

  • Experience in identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes

Preferred Qualifications

  • 4+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience

  • Experience participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results

  • Experiences in past roles influencing business owners and supporting decision-making in rapidly evolving and ambiguity environments

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $56,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $128,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
