Position Summary We are seeking a candidate with a keen sense of natural curiosity who will play a crucial role in enhancing clinical care delivery and driving innovation through the application of machine learning and data science. In this position, you will be responsible for leveraging advanced analytics to develop products that significantly improve clinical care delivery.

Our team applies data science methodologies to interdisciplinary business problems supporting the Aetna Care Management business. As a senior data scientist, you will work on an ambitious goal of leveraging the most advanced data science technologies to build and enhance products aimed at improving the health of our members, while simultaneously increasing care delivery productivity. To succeed in this role, you must be able to:

  • Write complex and efficient SQL code and leverage exploratory data analysis techniques to develop insights from clinical operations data.

  • Ability to structure and conduct analyses to solve multiple and/or complex business problems utilizing advanced statistical techniques and mathematical analyses.

  • Input business requirements from various stakeholders, lead the analysis of vast amounts of data to synthesize strategies and tactics to solve complex problems.

  • Work closely with team of data scientists, data engineers, and product designers to deliver products and analyses.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in data analysis and machine learning

  • Strong proficiency with Python and SQL

  • Experience with Generative AI, LLM, and NLP

  • Prior experience using and managing projects leveraging Cloud technologies (e.g. GCP, Azure, AWS, Databricks)

  • Familiarity with version control systems (Git) and concepts

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong business acumen and problem-solving skills with an emphasis on product development

  • Proven attention to detail, critical thinking, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a cross-functional team

  • Experience with health care, clinical, or payor data is a plus

  • Experience within an agile product development framework

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, Engineering, or equivalent quantitative field.

  • Master's degree or PhD preferred

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$106,605.00 - $206,000.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
