McKinsey & Company Inc. US is seeking a Senior Data Engineer in New York, NY. Design and implement distributed and fault-tolerant systems for processing and storing large volumes of data using technologies such as Snaplogic, AWS Glue, Apache Hadoop, Apache Spark. Develop and maintain real-time data processing pipelines using stream processing frameworks such as Apache Kafka, Apache Flink. Build and optimize data storage and retrieval systems such as data warehouses, data lakes, and NoSQL databases. Design and implement data security and governance frameworks, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations such as GDPR and HIPAA. Implement automated testing and continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) processes for data pipelines and workflows using tools such as CloudFormation, Terraform, Jenkins, Git, and Docker. Collaborate with software engineers to integrate data processing and analysis capabilities into production applications. Provide technical guidance to the leadership on data architecture and engineering best practices to cross-functional teams including data analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders. Conduct performance tuning and optimization of data processing and storage systems to improve query performance, reduce latency, and increase overall system efficiency. Stay updated with the latest data engineering technologies and trends and evaluate new technologies for potential adoption and implementation.Qualified applicants for this position must possess a Master’s degree in management science and engineering, computer engineering, or related field, or foreign degree equivalent. Minimum 1 year of tech consulting experience working on data governance, data modelling, data security, and risk mitigation. Experience must include the following: Leading projects and implementing solution-driven approaches for solving complex data challenges; collaborating on diverse team projects; Presenting technical ideas in client interactions.
