The opportunity
We are seeking a forward-thinking SAP Manager Consultant to join our Technology Consulting team. Collaborating with external clients and internal teams, you will use your strong proficiency in SAP technology to help clients achieve improved outcomes and lasting results. Harnessing our expertise in tax, assurance, transaction and risk, and by utilizing your capabilities to implement SAP, you will pave the way for innovative solutions.
Your key responsibilities
As a Senior Manager in our SAP Financial Services practice, you are expected to be able to lead a multi-discipline team (usually dedicated to multiple work areas – Data Management, ETL or Reporting and Analytics) through an SAP implementation cycle. You will be a key lead in the delivery of the SAP system and business integration, including interfacing with key client stakeholders. You will be entrusted to deliver cohesive, comprehensive deliverables on-time and on-budget to the utmost satisfaction of our clients. You will be supporting EY leadership to develop and sell new implementation opportunities and assist with the development of junior resources.
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Leading the end-to-end delivery of SAP Data and analytics workstreams within a larger finance transformation program. Activities range from strategy formulation to operational implementation.
Develop a plan and execution strategy against key project deliverables and lead end-to-end delivery
Effectively managing risk and project team capacity to deliver projects on-time and on-budget
Assisting Finance business teams reimagine their target state with the enablement of modern technology capabilities
Shaping the design of Finance operating models, introducing finance processes, and cutting-edge digital finance capabilities with a focus on SAP General Ledger, Asset Accounting, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Bank Accounting, Finance Master Data Management, and Allocations
Leading overall solution architecture and vision for the transformation program
Overseeing multiple workstreams focused on requirements gathering, system configuration, data integration, historical data conversion, security and controls, change management and training, and reporting
Leading regular review and quality assurance routines with the team to ensure quality delivery
Being a trusted advisor to senior client leadership and providing industry perspective and best practices
Regularly communicating progress, identifying key risks early, developing action and mitigation plans, and escalating issues where appropriate
Developing junior team members and growing the next generation of SAP technology professionals
Collaborating with global delivery teams on multi-disciplinary business transformations
Working with senior EY leadership to identify new opportunities and solutions to continue growing our business
Skills and attributes for success
You will have previous experience with SAP ERP applications, ideally SAP S/4 HANA, and will be experienced in areas such as financials, procure to pay, planning and consolidation or data modelling. You will have experience leading teams through complex implementations and exhibit the ability to think creatively to resolve business process design issues. You will possess excellent communication skills, an inclination to bond with the customer, and a track record of providing an outstanding service delivery experience
To qualify for the role, you must have
8+ years of hands-on end-to-end SAP Data & Analytics and S/4HANA implementation experience
5+ years of implementation experience using SAP S/4HANA with SAP BW/4HANA, Embedded Analytics or any ETL tool such as SAP BODS, Informatica, DataStage, etc.
A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience at a financial services company or comparable industry experience
Strong knowledge of SAP integration technologies (e.g., SAP PI/PO, SAP CPI, IDocs, BAPIs)
Deep understanding of Data Management, ETL or Reporting and Analytics, and standard components of the Finance Technology Architecture (Data warehouse, subledgers, general ledger, reporting tools, etc.) and their interdependencies
Previous Experience to process design and mapping
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
Successful experience with a Big-4, High-profile SAP client, or key role during an SAP implementation
Willingness and ability to travel up to 50-70%
Ideally, you’ll also have
Extensive exposure to requirements gathering, fit-gap analysis, and solution design
Experience leading data modelling and reporting projects
Experience in quality assurance activities (quality reviews, providing feedback on documentation, etc.)
Experience with SAP RISE Migration and S/4HANA conversion (ECC to S/4HANA)
Exposure to project management concepts and routines
SAP certification(s) related to S/4HANA, Embedded Analytics, BW/4HANA or ETL tools
Experience leading the implementation of AI and other next-generation technologies in the Finance space
Post-graduate / Graduate degree in computer science, engineering, accounting, finance or a related field
Experience developing sales opportunities

We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $169,900 to $388,200. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $203,900 to $441,300. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
