The University Eye Center (UEC) of the State University of New York College, an Article 28 Diagnostic and Treatment Center, is seeking a Revenue Cycle Manager. The successful candidate will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong knowledge of managed care, self-pay, Vision Plans, Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer guidelines.Reporting to the Director of Patient Financial Services, the Revenue Cycle (Billing) Manager is responsible for the direct supervision of a team of billing personnel.Responsibilities:Supervision of a team of billing personnel, monitoring staff productivity and quality of workDevelopment of performance programs and evaluations, goal setting and continuing education of staffCollaborates with the Patient Accounts team and the Clinical Operations team to implement and manage required and necessary operational and financial risk controlsMonitors accounts receivables, denial management, claims production/scrubbing/submission, payment posting, timely follow-up, bad debt processesMonitors and evaluates trends, identifies opportunities, and recommends processes for team to improve productivity, accuracy and timeliness of the revenue cycleEnsures compliance with applicable regulatory and payer requirementsQualifications:Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field from an accredited college or university or equivalentexperience. Minimum of 3-6 years’ experience in the revenue cycle, patient accounting/business office environment with a minimum of 2 years managerial experience is required. Experience with healthcare billing applications is required. Knowledge of Optometry billing and the Nextgen Practice Management System is preferred.Compensation based on experience is a minimum of $65k plus a generous benefit package. 15 days of annual leave to start and 13 paid holidays per year.
