Robert Half Manager, Technical Accounting in New York, New York
Description
Our client, a leading Brand Management company, is looking for a Manager, Technical Accounting to be a trusted advisor on U.S. GAAP and play a critical role in shaping the financial integrity of the business. In this role, you’ll lead the charge on analyzing high-impact transactions, updating accounting policies, and guiding teams through the nuances of technical accounting standards.
Responsibilities will include:
· Serve as the go-to expert on accounting standards related to business combinations, revenue recognition, leasing, stock-based compensation, debt, and more.
· Research and resolve technical accounting issues related to complex and non-recurring transactions.
· Evaluate new and evolving U.S. GAAP guidance, SEC regulations, and ensure timely adoption and implementation.
· Support M& A activity by assessing purchase accounting, integration processes, and valuation models.
· Collaborate across departments—including finance, legal, tax, and treasury—to assess accounting implications and maintain compliance.
· Prepare clear and defensible technical accounting memos and white papers.
· Partner with external auditors to streamline and resolve audit matters efficiently.
· Lead the drafting and revision of accounting policies and ensure alignment across the organization.
· Drive special projects that directly impact financial strategy and operations.

Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field
4+ years of experience, with a foundation in public accounting, preferable Big 4
CPA required
Excellent written and oral communication skills
