Job Description

Core Responsibilities
Manage the Station's work management systems, MAXIMO, DataSplice, Engage
Create weekly and outage work schedules by conducting frequent scheduled meetings with Operations, Maintenance, Technical Services and Engineering.
Ensure that all services and material requirements (i.e. purchase requisitions, stock and non-stock items) are established for all scheduled work and outages.
Oversee the upkeep of the Station's critical spare parts inventory by ensuring sufficient stock level is maintained and available.
Analyze work scope and requirements for all outages with Company Engineering support.
Responsible for the preparation, integrity and maintenance of all records within the job scopes. Ensure that all records, including appropriate reference materials are kept current and available.
Make certain that costs are minimized through savings in time, material and proper work procedures within the scope of the job.
Develop and implement a program to maximize Department productivity by utilizing and monitoring performance reports in systems such as Maximo, DataSplice, Engage.
Strive to improve morale and productivity of subordinates. Adhere to Company rules and terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Determine appropriate disciplinary action, conduct interviews, participate in settlement of grievances and evaluate subordinates work performance.
Develop personnel to achieve maximum efficiency and productivity by instructing, motivating, counseling and utilizing appropriate training.
Required Education/Experience
- Bachelor's Degree and with 5 - 10 years experience in a power plant, merchant shipping or related industry in operation, repair, testing or construction of plant equipment and systems.
Relevant Work Experience
3-5 years Supervisory experience with proven skills to motivate people. Required
Strong oral and written communication skills and ability to effectively interact with both internal and external customers, support staff, and various levels of management and union. Required
Knowledge of material procurement, outage coordination, work control, technical report writing, scheduling, drawing interpretation, purchasing, power plants, maintenance. Required
Proficient in the following computer programs/applications - Microsoft office, work management systems such as Maximo. Required
Strong communication, leadership and team player skills. Required
Knowledge of computer software and systems. Required
Licenses & Certifications
Driver's License Required
Boiler License NYC Stationary Engineer's License 1 1/2 Yrs Preferred
Physical Demands
Ability to work in adverse conditions that include, noise, confined spaces, and high elevations
Ability to climb ladders and stairs
Ability to work in inclement weather and adverse conditions (i.e., excessive heat, cold, noise, confined spaces)
Ability to be approved to wear and use either a full or half-face respirator and self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA), without facial hair or other conditions that may interfere with the seal, in accordance with OSHA regulations
Ability to travel to company locations to work on storm restoration and heat contingencies
Wear necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), i.e. fire-retardant clothing and safety harnesses
Other Physical Demands
- Must be able to respond to Company emergencies by performing a System Emergency Assignment to restore service to our customers.
