S ummary

The Operations department supports C&D staff with the services and resources they need to work effectively and efficiently. By interfacing with central shared services provided MTA-wide, the Operations department delivers tailored services that ensure C&D departments offer maximum value to MTA and its customers. Operations serve as a single point of contact between C&D departments and MTAHQ ' s shared service providers in Finance, Corporate Audits, Administration, People ( Human Resources ) , Labor Relations, Diversity and Construction Compliance , Technology, and Communications to ensure C&D ' s business needs are met. The I ncumbent in this position will be assigned to one of the above-mentioned business units.

Responsibilities

Under the guidance of managers, support the department in executing tasks that are relative to the business unit in which they are working .

Support data-gathering, review, and updating of information and documentation in project management systems or systems supporting departmental operations.

Perform detailed budget monitoring and administration tasks for capital projects or departmental operations. Support preparation of budget requests and reports.

Provide analytical support for the development of research, studies, analyses, and presentations related to capital projects, personnel, finance, audits , co nstruction compliance, or operations.

Develop, prepare and update analytical reports, spreadsheets, and databases.

Creates files and ensures that they are appropriately document ed.

Handle confidential and sensitive information related to projects, personnel or operations.

Ensure effective communication and function as liaison with project teams, departmental management, and other C&D units, as needed.

Depending upon the assignment , the Incumbent may work various shifts/days to participate in all aspects of the organization .

Complete other tasks as assigned.

Education and Experience

Bachelor ' s Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources Management, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics, Public Administration, Finance, Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Computer Science , or a related field.

Competencies:

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with all levels of management and team members.

Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with sound judgment and discretion.

Experience with project planning, scheduling, b udgeting , and project administration .

Strong presentation, written , and verbal communication skills .

Possess quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills .

Demonstrated organizational skills with attention to detail .

Ability to interact with multiple stakeholders .

Must have the ability to work both independently and within a team effectively .

Must be willing to adhere to the policies, rules , and regulations of the agency.

Proficient in MS Office Suite and other comparable PC applications .

Working knowledge of PeopleSoft, Power BI, and/or project management applications i s preferred.
