The design team plays a pivotal role at Lippincott by offering creative solutions to brand, innovation, and culture challenges. We lend the best of design thinking to the rest of our practices. As a Video Editor, you will work with teammates to develop smart, beautiful video solutions. This role also provides the opportunity to learn about Lippincott's methodology from more senior team members while making your mark on the organization in helping to grow Lippincott's video capability.

On a day-today basis you will:

  • Collaborate with colleagues from across practices to bring to life ideas in short films to support Lippincott's business efforts on behalf of clients and business development teams - from new client brand launch and manifesto videos to short documentary style IC and case studies s

  • Work with writers to transform scripts into compelling and memorable, video stories; both stock and new footage based

  • Serve as senior editor focused on client videos and supporting internal pitch and marketing videos

  • Oversee outside video production relationships; cover shoots; conduct occasional light shoots for interviews, B roll for internal purposes

  • Oversee external editorial resources and projects

  • Develop and oversee outside visual resources, including stock video providers, animators, motion graphics houses; freelance editors

  • Oversee voice talent resources; direct and conduct casting and recording

  • Work within budget for projects of varying scopes, from small to large

  • Maintain current invoicing and coordinate stock and music license purchasing through production department; accounts payable

  • Oversee the work of video interns; nurture and provide guidance for learning and development

You have:

  • A Bachelor's or equivalent in film studies with a concentration in film making

  • 3+ years of relevant film and editing experience

  • Demonstrated experience with editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro X) and intermediate experience in color, sound design, and motion graphics (After Effects)

  • Comfortable with basic lighting techniques and shooting video on Canon 5D/C300 cameras

  • A strong directorial vision and creativity

  • A relentless passion for delivering award quality work

  • The ability to work individually and is a self-starter

  • Strong organizational skills and an ability to set priorities and manage time across multiple projects

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate ideas

  • The ability to constructively participate as part of a project team

  • The desire to proactively seek constructive feedback

  • The willingness and enthusiasm to learn about technology, media, production process, design applications, and working methods
