Job Description

AECOM is seeking Highway Bridge Project Inspectors to work on Highway Bridge related Construction Management Projects in Nassau and Suffolk Counties.

  • Monitoring conformance to quality, performance, specifications, and code requirements by performing thorough inspection duties

  • Conducting daily field inspections of highway bridge construction sites and maintaining detailed inspection records

  • Participating in creating and resolving punch lists and tracking quality assurance progress.

  • Verifying that all construction activities comply with project plans, specifications, and applicable building codes

  • Coordinating with contractors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project timelines and quality standards are met

  • Reviewing and interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.

  • Identifying potential issues or conflicts in the field and reporting them to the project manager in a timely manner

  • Documenting construction progress through written reports, photographs, and other means as required.

  • Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and procedures on the construction site.

  • Attending project meetings and providing updates on inspection findings and construction progress.

  • Assisting in the review and approval of material submittals and shop drawings.

  • Performing or overseeing materials testing as needed to ensure quality standards are met.

  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date project files, including daily reports, test results, and correspondence.

  • Collaborating with design teams to address field issues and implement necessary design changes.

  • Participating in final inspections and project close-out activities to ensure all work meets required standards.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma plus 8 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

  • Due to the projects associated with this position a US Citizenship is required

  • Highway/Bridge Experience

  • NICET IV or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent written communications and presentation abilities in internal project settings

  • Software proficiency in Procore, SharePoint, MS Project

  • Microsoft Office, CEES and EBO software, as well as MURK, Federal Aid policies and procedures and the NYS LPM (formally PLAFAP) Manual

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $50.00/hour - $80.00/hour.
