Summary:

The NB Almanac Realty Finance Team is responsible for the accounting, financial and investor reporting, treasury, capital management, and performance measurement calculations of a series of real estate Private Equity investment funds, with an entity level investment strategy. The NB Almanac Realty Funds are internally managed and operating in a collaborative environment with dedicated legal, investment and investor relations resources.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of the Quarterly and Annual Reports of their assigned Funds, and related affiliated parallel funds, feeders, blockers and upper tier entities, including quarterly fund reviews, partner capital analysis, supplemental disclosures, and year-end audit support.

  • Ensuring that transactional activity is appropriately recorded in the general ledger (MRI), reconciling accounts and positions and preparing workpapers that support the Quarterly and Annual Reports issued.

  • Supporting the Treasury function related to the activities of their assigned Funds, including: management and oversite of Fund level cash positions; wire transfer review and approval; managing subscription credit facilities, including preparation of borrowing notices and debt compliance; and monitoring Portfolio Company collections.

  • Supporting the Capital Management process including calculation of capital calls and distribution allocations, preparation of notices and supporting ILPA schedules, etc.

  • Performance measurement, including calculation of IRRs, investment multiples and time-weighted returns.

  • Preparation of periodic investor supplemental reports, including information related to the funds and their underlying investments.

  • Working with and providing support to the Tax team related to blocker tax payment calculations and REIT compliance monitoring.

Qualifications:

We are seeking a candidate with a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (CPA or CPA qualified), with 4 – 5 years of Big 4 public accounting experience, and a significant focus in the Private Equity or Real Estate sectors.

  • Superior technical accounting knowledge and strong level of understanding of the Private Equity business.

  • Tested leadership skills, experiencing managing teams and supervising staff.

  • Drive for continuous improvement, and desire to identify process efficiencies.

  • Willingness to “roll up sleeves” and ability to understand big-picture issues.

  • Strong verbal and written communicate skills, able to confidently interact with Senior NB Almanac team members.

  • Desire to work in a collaborative environment, supporting the common goals of the broader of the NB Almanac team.

  • Excellent analytical skills, strong planning and organizational skills.

  • Ambitious, desire to assume additional responsibilities over time, and able to work well under pressure of deadlines.

Compensation Details

The salary range for this role is $95,000-$145,000. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in New York City. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs. This job is also eligible for a discretionary bonus.
