LinkedIn is looking for an engagement editor to join LinkedIn News’ Circulation team to help deliver member value at scale. In this role, the engagement editor’s goal will be to engage LinkedIn members in novel ways around news, knowledge, and industry trends. This includes using LinkedIn tools and data to ensure professionals are getting the right content at the right time and amplifying editorial content and creators. You’ll work closely with Daily News, Special Projects, Video teams and more, deciding what to prioritize and how to best amplify trending stories, video, creators and other LinkedIn News content using notifications.

The ideal candidate will be well organized, creative and a self-starter. They will have exemplary news judgment, superb writing & copy editing skills, and will have experience in sending push alerts / notifications, plus building and growing audiences. Furthermore, this candidate should have a passion for the details, as well as data, and is excited to experiment with reaching audiences in new ways — but comfortable with abandoning a plan that isn't working.

Responsibilities

  • Write and edit in-app and push notifications daily

  • Define audiences and connect them to relevant content

  • Track and measure engagement metrics, using this data to spot trends and develop new ideas for reaching LinkedIn members on and off the platform

  • Stay up-to-date with breaking and trending news, especially topics that professionals need to know about now and that spark great conversations

  • Partner with Daily News, Special Projects, Video and Community Management teams

  • Regularly share learnings and recommendations for how best to amplify LinkedIn News content with team and editorial leaders

  • Help define and prioritize experiments for targeting and reaching key audiences

  • Identify—and put to use—emerging growth tactics and trends in audience engagement

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Journalism, Communications, English, or Creative Writing

  • 1-3+ years sending alerts/notifications, managing social accounts and/or audience engagement and distribution for a news organization or consumer-facing brand

Preferred Qualifications

  • Excellent writing and copy-editing skills

  • Proven experience growing audiences and driving metrics

  • Tracking and measuring data, distilling insights and making recommendations

  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks with total accuracy and attention to detail

  • Experience with email marketing

  • Working in a news or fast-paced, ever-evolving environment

  • Proficiency in writing in an engaging tone that fits LinkedIn’s professional audience

  • Ability to spot emerging trends and growth tactics, and devise a plan for reaching audiences in new ways

  • Experimental in your approach, testing and iterating to find out what works

  • Passion for LinkedIn News’ mission to build the voice of the global workforce through news, ideas and community

  • Collaborative, excellent interpersonal skills, and works well in a team

  • Highly proactive with a positive and constructive mindset

_LinkedIn is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. _

_The pay range for this role is $97,000 to $156,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor. _
