Department Profile: The Finance Division reports to the Chief Financial Officer and consists of some 3,000 employees worldwide. Finance protects the Morgan Stanley franchise by serving as guardian of the Firm's books and records, and by contributing to firm wide risk management and risk reduction. This division maintains relationships with Morgan Stanley's various industry and government regulators, and also serves as the conduit of financial information to the outside investment community.

Finance plays a critical role as advisor to Morgan Stanley's various businesses and its senior management team. Job Summary:

The candidate will be working within the Finance Digital team to enable our global customer base of approximately four thousand users. The candidate will partner with Technology, Operations and other teams within Finance to deliver business process improvement, facilitate knowledge sharing and training opportunities for Finance's Citizen Developers.

Responsibilities:

  • Expand and promote the Finance Digital Program by equipping customers with digital tooling and automation capabilities such as Alteryx, UiPath and PowerBI.
  • Coordinate and manage future digital toolkit opportunities including tooling such as GenAI, Power Apps or other emerging technology.
  • Understand functionality, align stakeholder requirements and assess/ track customer demand.
  • Promote solutions which complement strategic data sourcing and horizontal integration efforts.
  • Role and related activities include: o Learning new technology and performing software assessments
    o Informing and engaging the digital community through spotlight interviews and newsletters o Facilitating virtual office hours, ideation sessions and developing end-user training o Developing, delivering and maintaining data-specific workshops to support meeting new and existing operational needs o Developing, maintaining and automating production of various Finance business processes and ad-hoc reports including process optimization & mapping.
  • Present to various audiences in global Finance including senior leadership.

You Have:

  • An ability to analyze information and execute results within an agreed timeline.
  • Strong data-oriented, and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in at least one of the following data transformation tools: Alteryx, Power Query or UiPath.
  • Experience performing data analysis to assist with data cataloguing (lineage and metadata) of data stores and feeds.
  • Experience in leveraging Tableau, Power BI or other visualization tools to enable dynamic dashboarding.
  • Excellent communication & project management skills (Agile), with an understanding of collaboration tools such as JIRA, JIVE and Microsoft Teams.
  • Knowledge of Generative AI capabilities, usage patterns and related tools such as OpenAI ChatGPT, Microsoft 365 CoPilot and others.

Qualifications preferred:

  • University degree (BSc or BA) in Accounting, Finance or any Engineering related discipline.
  • 2 years of work experience in a financial services related role.
  • Citizen Developer experience and/or demonstrated digital tool proficiency via Alteryx Core Certification, PowerBI Data Analyst Associate or UIPath Certified Professional.
  • Finance controls, capital or liquidity reporting knowledge would be beneficial.
  • Experience designing or using a conversational AI interface over data marts to rapidly query and aggregate datasets.

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $80,000 and $110,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
