Robert Half Accounting Clerk in New York, New York
Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join a dedicated team within the non-profit sector. This is a long-term contract position based in New York, New York, where you will play a key role in processing financial contributions and maintaining accurate donor records. If you have experience with gift processing and donor management systems, this role offers an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact.
Responsibilities:
• Process various types of financial contributions, including pledges, checks, wires, and credit card donations, on a daily basis.
• Maintain and update donor records in Raiser’s Edge, including creating new accounts and revising existing information.
• Accurately enter all donations into the Raiser’s Edge database.
• Prepare and reconcile daily reports related to recurring gifts and online donations.
• Collaborate with the Communications Department to ensure proper allocation of web-based and mailed donations.
• Assist the Payroll Administrator with processing employee contributions for payroll deductions.
• Adjust and update donation records in Raiser’s Edge as needed, and provide supporting documentation to the Finance Department for accurate adjustments in NetSuite.
• Supply backup documents for endowment and restricted fund gifts to the Controller.
• Partner with Development staff to address donor inquiries, including tax receipt records and donor account details, through online customer service channels. Requirements • Proficiency with Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge NXT or similar donor management software.
• Hands-on experience in gift processing and financial recordkeeping.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and reporting.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Familiarity with non-profit financial practices and donor relations is a plus.
