Job Title: CNC Machine Operator

Job Description

We are a leading manufacturer of motion and control technologies and systems, providing precision-engineered solutions for a wide variety of mobile, industrial, and aerospace markets. Our products are vital to virtually everything that moves or requires control, including the manufacture and processing of raw materials, durable goods, infrastructure development, and all forms of transport. This particular location specializes in making gear heads for motors.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and set up CNC lathes and mills.

  • Take raw materials through to the first article inspection for any lathe or mill part.

  • Focus on insourcing activities.

  • Ensure accurate machining by understanding fundamentals, materials, feed rates, speeds, fixture design, grinding, honing, heat treat, welding, and inspection.

  • Familiarize with different grades of steel and aluminum and understand their machinability requirements.

Essential Skills

  • Two-year technical degree.

  • Strong grasp of machining fundamentals and materials.

  • Proficiency with feed rates, speeds, fixture design, grinding, honing, heat treat, welding, and inspection.

  • Experience with different grades of steel and aluminum.

  • At least one year of experience operating CNC machines.

  • Six months of set-up experience on CNC machines.

  • 1-2 years of experience with inspection tools such as micrometers and calipers.

  • Basic math skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Ability to stand on feet all day.

  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.

Work Environment

The work environment includes working on a production floor with excellent lighting and ventilation. The role requires standing for long periods and involves lifting up to 75 lbs. The position is for the 2nd shift, with summer hours from Noon to 8:30 PM, and training on the day shift from 6 AM to 2 PM.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New Ulm, Minnesota.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
