CDM Smith’s Federal Services Unit (FSU) Water and Facilities (WAF) Group has an exciting opportunity within our WAF portfolio for a position to support our USACE IWR client and USACE Districts nationwide. Through effective teamwork and leadership, this position will collaborate with our Client Service and Project Delivery leads to successfully deliver projects and client service while seeking opportunities to expand existing service offerings to our USACE IWR client and USACE Districts nationwide, within the civil works portfolio. Projects include conducting water resources planning, policy, and economic studies, and developing economic models to evaluate costs and benefits and assessment of economic feasibility of proposed improvements. Key aspects of the position include supporting the CDM Smith Project Manager and Client Service Leader in the following areas:

•\tClient Service – Serve as a liaison with various IWR clients as well as with contacts at USACE Districts. This includes initiating and maintaining relationships with multiple USACE contacts to understand their needs and match with CDM Smith capabilities to support revenue growth and support future sales initiatives through close coordination with the WAF sales team. Actively participate in relevant industry organizations such as: SAME, ASCE, etc.

•\tUSACE Planning and Economics – Serve as a liaison and in certain cases, as project technical lead for CDM Smith’s services related to USACE planning and economics. Work with our existing project teams who are developing and enhancing models, tools and software related to USACE planning and economics. This includes close collaboration with and serving as a liaison between CDM Smith’s software developers and technical staff and USACE IWR and District PMs regarding client needs and project performance.

•\tRFP/Proposal Responses – Work within teams of marketing staff, project delivery and client service staff to develop and review content for proposals in response to USACE RFPs. Support the marketing and proposal development for USACE Civil Works and similar related opportunities by working effectively with Client Service Leaders, Technical Strategy Leaders, and project delivery teams to position, secure, and deliver quality projects.

Additional duties below which are more aligned with a traditional Project Manager role – several of these responsibilities may be integrated into this role over time:

•\tPlanning, developing, coordinating, and directing multiple civil works task orders/projects teams and concurrently.

•\tEnsuring client satisfaction by delivering quality, on-time project outcomes as a result of good planning and organizational skills; managing client expectations.

•\tEstimating resource needs and scheduling and assigning work to meet project milestone dates.

•\tIdentifying, quantifying, and communicating potential project risk and mitigation solutions

•\tManaging project change using change management protocols; determining appropriate changes or alternate paths and communicating them appropriately.

Minimum Qualifications:

•\tBachelor's degree.

•\t12 years of related experience.

•\tDomestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands.

•\tEquivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Additional Compensation:

All bonuses at CDM Smith are discretionary and may or may not apply to this position.
