Job Title: Maintenance Technician Employer: Guste Homes Resident Management Corporation Location: New Orleans, LA Employment Type: Full-Time Reports To: Maintenance Supervisor / Property Manager

Position Summary: Guste Homes Resident Management Corporation is seeking a reliable and skilled Maintenance Technician to perform general maintenance, repairs, and upkeep of residential units and facilities. The ideal candidate will have experience in a variety of maintenance areas, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to providing safe, clean, and well-functioning housing for residents.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance and repair tasks in occupied and vacant residential units, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and painting.
• Respond promptly to maintenance service requests and work orders.
• Inspect and troubleshoot building systems and report issues to the supervisor.
• Prepare units for occupancy by completing necessary repairs and ensuring cleanliness.
• Assist in the maintenance of grounds, including trash removal, landscaping, and snow/ice removal (if applicable).
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and building codes.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
• Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively with residents and management.
• Participate in on-call rotation for emergency repairs as needed.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational or technical training preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in residential or property maintenance preferred.
• Knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry.
• Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Strong problem-solving and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Frequent standing, walking, climbing, and bending.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
