Actalent Entry Level Engineer in New Orleans, Louisiana
Job Title: Entry Level EngineerJob Description
Currently sourcing for 4-5 engineers in the New Orleans market. Qualified candidates should have an engineering degree from an ABET-accredited university. Ideally, candidates would have a background in electrical engineering or mechanical engineering. Chemical or industrial engineering backgrounds are also acceptable. In this role, candidates will be responsible for performing analysis, staking, and pole relocation support for utilities in the United States.
Responsibilities
Perform analysis, staking, and pole relocation support for utilities.
Utilize software similar to GDT / Smallworld, DDS, and others.
Travel 5-10% of the time for project staking.
Work with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Essential Skills
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (preferably Electrical or Mechanical) from an ABET-accredited university.
Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
Strong communication and initiative skills.
Open to feedback and continuous learning.
Critical thinking abilities.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Previous distribution engineering experience supporting utilities is a plus.
Internship experience demonstrating initiative is ideal.
Experience with pole analysis, pole relocations, and pole staking.
Work Environment
Office environment, 40 hours per week (some overtime dependent on deliverables, must be approved by leadership). Candidates must be open to traveling into the office 5 days per week. After a 6-month review, a hybrid schedule may be considered if performance is satisfactory.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $31.00/hr.
