Job Description

Oversees the development, design, implementation, administration and evaluation of policies, services, programs and operations of clinical initiatives. Provides leadership and operational expertise, program management and oversight for clinical transformation programs. Leads the development and implementation of strategic planning activities across a broad scope of initiatives. Facilitates quality improvement initiatives and the integration of the health system mission/vision, values and goals.

Job Responsibility

1.Oversees the planning, organization, and direction of nursing initiatives across the organization.

2.Initiates, develops, and evaluates the strategic plans, policies and procedures for system nursing initiatives, programs, committees and councils.

3.Identifies and develops new initiatives and opportunities consistent with the mission/vision and strategic direction of the organization.

4.Establishes and measures organizational performance against goals and objectives.

5.Develops and articulates a long-term strategic vision for areas of responsibility. Plans, organizes, and directs operational and administrative activities; designs program goals, timelines, and objectives; oversees project operations; plans objectives within programs, develops clinical relationships.

6.Creates collaborative partnerships to support goals and objectives for the promotion and advancement of clinical excellence.

7.Monitors and evaluates industry trends for impact on business performance and competitive outlook.

8.Ensures active communication with internal and external partners to establish strong relationships that are complementary to and consistent with organizational goals and strategic needs.

9.Partners and collaborates with leaders and management teams including physicians, operations, nursing, HR and others; develops an effective intra-disciplinary communications process within the department and across the health system.

10.Provides administrative oversight over all areas within scope.

11.Develops and oversees operational, personnel and capital budgets.

12.Collaborates with clinical, nursing, and administrative stakeholders to develop project details including definitions, metrics, specific and global aims; develops, reviews, coordinates and integrates policies and procedures for clinical operations, drug safety reporting, clinical compliance and data analysis and reporting.

13.Develops and monitors strategic goals, objectives, and budgets; builds and maintains productive inter/intra-departmental and vendor work relationships to optimize operations; collaborates as part of a cross-functional team in developing strategic direction for product development plans.

14.Identifies and recommends potential new development projects and assesses the feasibility of pursuit; collaborates with clinical and administrative leadership and sites, individuals, and groups within the organization to drive organizational goals.

15.Participates in review and analysis of current and future needs assessments of equipment, systems, and software to ensure optimal service outcomes.

16.Develops framework for operational integration of clinical care delivery and technology with emphasis on evidence-based practices and outcomes; collaborates with facility administrators, the leadership and team members to design and implement clinical performance improvement projects that improve the efficiency and effectiveness of patient care.

17.Collaborates with clinical leadership to help ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations of federal, state, and local governmental agencies and with the standards, rules and regulations of the various accrediting and approving bodies.

18.Leads the Clinical Initiatives function by developing leaders and driving programs and initiatives that support and impact Northwell health system goals.

19.Develops relationships with industry and professional associations to ensure ongoing integration of leading-edge practices and concepts.

20.Participates in professional nursing organizations and seeks to become a thought leader.

21.Selects, develops, manages, and evaluates direct reports.

Job Qualification

Master's Degree in Nursing, required.

Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State, plus specialized certifications as needed.

Minimum of ten (10) years progressive leadership/management experience, required.

Minimum of ten (10) years related nursing experience and seven (7) years related progressive leadership/management experience, required.

The salary range and/or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.When determining a team member's base salary and/or rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., location, specialty, service line, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, negotiated contracts, budget and internal equity).

The salary range for this position is $166,500-$291,400/year
