Job Title: Machine Operator
3rd Shift: 7pm-7am
Pay: $22.25/hr ($21/hr + $1.25 Shift Differential)
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Machine Operator to oversee the extrusion machine process. This role involves managing a machine that applies a plastic coating to bare copper wires, including copper coaxial cable and other wires used in data transfer and communication. The candidate will be responsible for setting up the machine correctly, using basic hand tools for adjustments, and monitoring the flow and supply of raw materials. The role requires identifying and resolving issues promptly to ensure efficient and accurate product flow. Periodic quality checks using various measuring tools are also part of the responsibilities.
Responsibilities
Oversee extrusion machine operations.
Set up and adjust the machine for different products.
Use basic hand tools to switch and adjust tooling as needed.
Monitor raw materials and ensure a consistent supply.
Identify and resolve issues quickly to maintain efficient product flow.
Conduct periodic quality checks using measuring tools like tape measures, micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
Follow a set Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).
Adhere to the Master Sheet and Process Sheet for product and schedule guidelines.
Pay close attention to detail and take accurate measurements.
Document results on a computer and track production.
Manage time effectively, moving between stations to load/unload spools and feed operations or pull finished products.

Work Environment
The work environment is a very clean production facility that is climate-controlled, although it can still get warm. The company manufactures copper cable/wire. Candidates must wear safety-toed boots or shoes at all times, including during the interview tour. The company has a dress code that must be reviewed prior to the interview. Contractors work a 12-hour shift and are paid for all 12 hours. Breaks are taken as a relief person goes around to relieve each employee in an area and may not be at the exact same time every day.

The pay range for this position is $46280.00 - $46280.00/yr.
