Accounts Receivable Specialist
Job Description
The Billing Specialist will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate reconciliation of vendor invoices, verification of patient medical records for insurance payments, and submission of claims to multiple insurance providers. The specialist will also manage denied claims, post insurance and patient checks through an online system, and handle patient payments and billing inquiries over the phone. There is potential for the role to expand into some Accounts Payable tasks.
Responsibilities
Reconcile vendor invoices and ensure all items from patient orders are properly dispensed.
Verify patient medical records to ensure they are sufficient for insurance payment.
Submit claims to multiple insurance providers.
Handle denied claims from insurance companies.
Post insurance and patient checks through the online system.
Take patient payments and answer billing questions over the phone.
Potential to expand responsibilities to include some Accounts Payable tasks.
Essential Skills
Accounting, Finance, Business, or Economics degree.
Strong Excel skills.
Experience in billing research, billing, payment posting, and accounts payable.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Proficiency in Excel is crucial for data analysis and reporting.
Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous.
Work Environment
This is a fully in-office role with working hours from 9 am to 6 pm. The position is part of a three-person billing team. The team collaborates closely to ensure seamless operations and efficient handling of billing tasks. The role is available due to a current employee transitioning to another opportunity. The office environment is dynamic and fast-paced, requiring a proactive and organized approach to tasks.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $24.00/hr.
