UPMC Occupational Therapist (OT) in New Castle, Pennsylvania
Provides occupational therapy assessment and treatment using advanced clinical skills in a specialty area of occupational therapy for patients referred to non-contracted and contracted facilities of the Rehabilitation Institute. Serves as a clinical resource for other staff members. May have an individual agreement with an academic institution for instructional services. Participates in research conducted within the Rehabilitation Institute.
Responsibilities:
Document all occupational therapy services, including initial assessments, follow-ups, and discharge summaries.
Co-sign occupational therapy assistant documentation every two weeks.
Communicate patient status updates to referring physicians and healthcare team members.
Complete charge and statistical reports to reflect accurate service delivery.
Schedule patients to meet productivity standards and ensure high-quality care.
Provide home instructions to patients and family members as needed.
Participate in clinical education by supervising students during internships.
Maintain professional licensure through ongoing education and professional development.

Rotate through treatment areas and actively participate in staff meetings and educational in-services."

Graduate of an accredited program approved by The Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE)
Must possess knowledge and skills required to provide quality customer service.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
Active license in practicing state required. CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.
Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
