[**Position Overview - We are seeking an experienced and strategic Sourcing Manager to join our Production Control team. The Sourcing Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing effective sourcing strategies, negotiating contracts, and managing supplier relationships to ensure the timely and cost-effective procurement of goods and services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to build and maintain strong supplier partnerships.

  • Establish key performance metrics driving purchased item performance in the areas of on-time-delivery, service quality, cost, quality/compliance, supply chain responsiveness and speed.
  • Strategic Sourcing / Purchasing / Procurement: Adopt best in class purchasing practices to establish replenishment strategies that optimize inventory, PPV and customer value. Reduce lead times and costs while improving responsiveness to customer needs. Support product development and transfer initiatives with new materials, suppliers.
  • Identify potential suppliers, conduct market research, and analyze industry trends to ensure a competitive advantage in sourcing.
  • Evaluate and qualify suppliers based on their capabilities, quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, conducting regular performance reviews and addressing any issues or concerns.
  • Negotiate favorable terms and conditions with suppliers, including pricing, delivery schedules, payment terms, and quality standards.
  • Draft, review, and finalize contracts, ensuring compliance with legal and organizational requirements.
  • Transportation / Logistics: Reduce transportation costs across the supply chain by leveraging optimization models, carrier contractual agreements, freight consolidation strategies, etc.
  • Continuously monitor and analyze costs, market trends, and supplier performance to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
  • Implement cost reduction initiatives without compromising products or service quality.
  • Support product development activities to optimize make-vs-buy sourcing decisions for new products, and to support speed-to-market by balancing new sourcing investment versus risk of forecast uncertainty.
  • Identify and assess potential risks in the supply chain and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Stay informed about geopolitical, economic, and industry-specific factors that may impact the supply chain.
  • Collaborate with team, including operations, finance, and quality, to align sourcing strategies with overall business objectives.
  • Work closely with other departments to ensure sourcing processes support organizational needs.
  • Any additional duties assigned by the Manager.
