P.A.C.E., Inc. Outreach Coordinator in New Bedford, Massachusetts

The Coordinated Family and Community Engagement (CFCE) Grant, a program of PACE Child Care Works, is funded by the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care. The main goal of the CFCE is to provide families with access to locally available comprehensive services and supports that strengthen families, promote optimal child development and bolster school readiness. We also support early educators and host advisory council meetings covering the 11 towns we serve. We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications/skills: ? Minimum of an Associate?s Degree, Early Childhood Education Certificate, EEC Director or Lead Teacher Certification or equivalent experience/skills; ? Experience working in an early childhood field; ? Detail oriented, able to complete tasks to meet deadlines; ? Must be team player; ? Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ? Bi-lingual preferred, but not required; ? Must be able to pass a CORI & SORI background checks. Candidate will be responsible for providing support and resources to families with young children, early education and care programs and community partners; provide outreach to communities within service delivery area to educate families regarding all CFCE programs; use Ages & Stages Questionnaire when requested by family; offer referrals and additional support if needed; participate in community events; prepare developmentally appropriate curriculum for parent/child playgroups and literacy activities using dialogic reading technique; MA Guidelines for Pre-school Learning Experiences and Early Learning Guidelines for Infants and Toddlers; Facilitate parent education groups using the Strengthening Families approach; support families with transitions such as kindergarten transition and transitions between early education and care settings; prepare for and facilitate CFCE General Advisory meetings and ensure that council members are informed of all CFCE grant criteria and EEC initiatives as well as recruiting new council members; maintain and collect data for EEC reporting required by grant; and participate in weekly Team meetings.
