Job Title: Diesel Mechanic
Job Description
We are looking for a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team. This role involves maintaining a variety of diesel equipment, including loaders, excavators, skid steers, and a fleet of on-road trucks. You will also be responsible for maintaining small engines on commercial mowers and ensuring all equipment is in peak condition through regular maintenance and troubleshooting. Pay will range from $35 - $40 an hour.
Responsibilities
Maintain diesel equipment such as loaders, excavators, and skid steers.
Maintain a fleet of on-road trucks.
Maintain small engines on commercial mowers.
Perform all aspects of regular maintenance and troubleshoot engine issues.
Keep up with inspection stickers.
Advise and coordinate with the owner on replacing equipment and vehicles.
Perform other mechanic duties as needed.
Essential Skills
Experience in diesel maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting.
Knowledge of hydraulics, mechanical, electrical systems, and preventive maintenance.
Proficiency in handling brakes, diesel engines, transmissions, and Lull equipment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Valid driver's license.
5 years of mechanic experience in heavy equipment, vehicles, diesel engines, and small engine repair.
Hoisting License (Minimum 2A, 1C).

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New Bedford, Massachusetts.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.
