APPROXIMATE ANNUAL SALARY - $67,296.24 to $100,098.72 PAY GRADE: 36

The Position

Information Technology (IT) Technicians install, configure, monitor, and maintain networks and monitor and maintain help desk user support or mainframe and server operations.

Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others.

The Nevada Department of Transportation is seeking to fill multiple IT Technician 6 positions in Las Vegas and Carson City. Duties include complex troubleshooting and the support of all NDOT computing devices and peripherals, in a variety of physical and remote (VPN) office scenarios. The incumbent will be performing application support duties consist of installing, upgrading, and address issues in Office 365 as well as transportation-specific software applications. Other duties include endpoint preparation and deployment, monitoring and maintaining the security of the NDOT computing environment, completing work orders within established time frames, and assisting with the asset management of computers, peripheral devices, and printers. To Qualify:

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)

Graduation from high school or equivalent education and three years of IT work experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of network workstation hardware and software; OR one year of experience as an IT Technician V in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Special Requirements

This position is subject to call-out or call-back. Statewide travel is required. Working evenings, weekends and/or holidays is required. A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
