JOB SUMMARY:

The Materials Supervisor will provide leadership and support to all material related activities to ensure efficient and timely delivery of materials and services. This role is a key player to assist in supporting operations. This position is responsible for SKU accuracy, cycle counting and handles the processes for excess and obsolete inventory at multiple Pierce Manufacturing facilities and warehouses. Provides leadership toward resolving materials management and inventory control issues and leads resolution activities where needed. This role will develop high performance work teams with ongoing coaching and direction, both formal and informal, enabling a People First Culture.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead 1-2 small or similar areas within the materials team in the assigned facility, taking ownership of safety, productivity, efficiency, and accuracy of transactions and inventory.

  • Lead production team members in a non-union environment on the materials process and provide daily support in troubleshooting issues that arise.

  • Provide performance feedback and appraisals to team members to guide their development

  • Educate and enforce quality, safety and 5S standards and processes, and recommend changes as opportunities arise

  • Assist in the development and management of the flow of materials internally, between plants, and offsite warehousing.

  • Evaluate and improve processes used to receive, store, pick, and present materials.

  • Review and update departmental procedures to ensure ISO compliance.

  • Train employees on materials processes, including but not limited to inventory issues, credits, rejects, receipts, and transfers.

  • Work cross functionally with Purchasing, Operations, Finance, Safety, and Quality to optimize processes and performance across disciplines.

  • Review daily shortages due to inventory errors, determine causes and corrective actions.

  • Develop use of technology in systems and processes.

  • Other materials-related projects and assignments as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or GED with Four (4) or more years of manufacturing experience.

  • OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain Management or related area.

  • Previous supervisory experience and leading teams.

  • Microsoft Excel knowledge with use of pivot tables and V-Lookups.

Pay Range:

$72,200.00 - $116,200.00

The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by various factors, including the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's experience, education and skills, as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
