DEATON PROPERTIES LLC ET AL Ranch Manager in NAVASOTA, Texas

Cow calf operation located in Grimes County Texas, 30 miles Southeast of Bryan College Station. (11 miles east of Navasota). We are seeking a results driven ranch manager to be responsible for managing cattle, personnel, capital, equipment, land and other resources to safely manage the operation.

This is a full-time position that will oversee the day-to-day operation at the ranch. The position requires a broad skill set with knowledge and experience with cattle as well as general farming.

Responsibilities include: 1. Management of +/- cow/calf operation 2. Keep accurate detailed records of operation. (Breeding, bulls, calving, vaccinations, medication, purchases, sales etc.) 3. Manage feed program, grazing and pasture rotation, hay bailing and third-party bailing operation 4. Supervise full and part-time employees as needed. Manage summer intern program sponsoring 1-2 summer employees on occasion. 5. Communicate with occasional absent owner and provide weekly updates as needed. 6. Responsible for purchasing, bill payment and records management. 7. Provide detailed and accurate income/expense spreadsheet and records at year-end to Ranch CPA for tax preparation. 8. Responsible for all equipment maintenance. Lubrication, minor repairs, etc. 9. Fertilizing and spraying pastures, hay fields and other ranch properties. 10. Responsible for weekly payroll tracking and submission. 11. Maintain multiple Ranch houses landscaping-irrigation, mowing, flower beds etc. 12. Maintain and/or repair Ranch fences. 13. Most importantly, maintain a strong emphasis on Ranch safety.

Qualifications 1. Past experience with managing or working cow/calf operation required. Previous employee management experience preferred. Strong understanding and experience for taking care of ranch equipment-tractors, skid steers, trucks, bailing equipment etc. Welding experience preferred. Excellent communication skills, effective oral and written skills and ability to supervise employees. Must know how to use a computer and submit reports via Microsoft Word, Excel and email. 2. History of maintaining a well organized, clean and safe operation. 3. Strong Safety record. Clean driving record and the candidate must pass Insurance requirements. 4. U.S. citizen or green card holder

Compensation and Benefits: 1. Base compensation market competitive based on candidates experience level. 2. 4 bedroom, four-year-old ranch manager house provided. Managers house and managers office are smoke-free and drug free. Utility expenses responsibility. Manager must reside on ranch property. 3. 2022 F350 Ranch Manager pick-up provided. 4. Annual bonus based on performance of employee and ranch. 5. Annual safety bonus based on safe operation. 6. 1/2 beef provided annually. 7. Relocation assistance. 8. 2 weeks paid vacation after 1 year of service (3 weeks after 5 years of service). 9. 3% SEP match after 1 year of service.
