Description
North America Sort Centers (NASC) Engineering is searching for an innovative and solutions-oriented Operations Engineer to lead Process Design Engineering in developing and delivering next generation, world-class sortation and transportation processes and design standards. This position will outright own the NASC workspace design standards and will have significant impact on template and retrofit designs for NASC.

In this role, you will collaborate with internal and external teams develop innovative and cost-effective solutions for our sortation and distribution systems. You will be responsible for creating, managing, updating new standard documents for the space, equipment, and distances involved in every process path and package handling step within NASC. You will own the knowledge and standard process for all of NASC and be a critical input and reference point for upstream design teams and downstream Operations support teams.
You will work with a team of highly skilled and highly engaged engineers in a fast-paced and often ambiguous environment. Our team works on hundreds of projects each year. You will be challenged; you will learn; you will work on high impact, high visibility projects; You will grow.

Key job responsibilities
• Coordinate efforts to develop optimal solutions and processes for the sortation and transportation network through material flow, process design, site layout, and intellectual property considerations.
• Collaboration with internal teams and external vendors to generate high-quality workspace innovations for people, MHE, and technology within NASC
• Simultaneously manage multiple projects and tasks while effectively influencing, negotiating, and communicating with internal and external business partners, contractors and vendors.
• Effective communication skills, ability to execute the vision, detailed roadmap, specific technical solutions, and present to leadership.
• Support engineering products and analysis such as, developing rate models of complex MHE systems, ownership of Material Flow Diagrams for new and existing sites, rate analysis, and process feedback for design teams and provide standard documents for network continuous improvement/standardization efforts, in partnership with Engineering Execution and ACES teams
Basic Qualifications
5+ years of industrial engineer, operations engineer, manufacturing engineer, or project engineer in a manufacturing environment experience
Experience with presenting to director and VP level audience
Demonstrated ability to own projects, think big, and influence across all levels of an organization
Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences, ability to simplify complex topics for broad audiences
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to successfully work with others
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of AutoCAD, VBA, and SQL at the intermediate level
Experience working with and managing third party vendors
Experience with Six Sigma, lean manufacturing
Knowledge of complex material handling equipment, packaging technologies, systems, and high-speed manufacturing
Master's degree in engineering, mechanical, operations, supply chain, business administration, or equivalent STEM field

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $107,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $177,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
