Position Description
This role resides within the Training Division of the Central Human Resources department of Metropolitan Nashville and Davidson County Government. The Central HR Department is committed to assisting our customers, both internal and external, by providing information and support in such areas as recruitment, compensation, benefits, training, and employment relations The Training Division provides a myriad of services to all of our 55+ departments. Employee training is a critical component of retaining a highly qualified and diverse municipal workforce and providing opportunities that promote professional development and to foster a safe, healthy, and productive work environment that will allow us to provide quality services to the public.
Possesses expertise in mandatory, soft skills, and leadership training course development and delivery for in-person, virtual, and blended learning formats. Has in-depth knowledge and experience with online training development tools. Demonstrates proficient level of administering a learning management system (LMS) to include course inventory, employee training records, and generating relevant reports. Performs related duties as required.
Generally, this position has a hybrid work schedule with 2 days in the office and 3 days virtual work.
Typical Duties
The ideal candidate will possess advanced to expert level in the following:
Soft skills content design (creating programs, curriculum, logistics, presentation design, etc.) and facilitation (in-person and virtual) for diverse educational and experience levels in both leadership and individual contributor perspective.
Technical skills, including Microsoft Office products, i.e., Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook Inbox management.
Collaboration skills, including giving/receiving feedback and implementing constructive feedback edits.
Organizational and time management skills, including managing/completing multiple, concurrent, and interdependent projects and tasks, and meeting all deadlines.
Problem solving skills, including defining the problem, determining the cause, identifying/selecting alternative solutions, and implementing the solution.
Attention to detail, including written/oral communications and training materials.
Works within a learning management system (LMS), including creating courses, classes (offerings), recording employee training records, and troubleshooting LMS issues.
Creates and maintains the training schedule, including space logistics (location, room(s), etc.).
Reviews, assesses, and updates online and instructor-led training materials.
Uses online course development software to develop training content/courseware for instructor-led and online programs.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university and three (3) years of professional training experience, including course content design and development and instructor-led and virtual class/workshop delivery.

Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Experience in administering a formal learning management system, i.e., Oracle, etc.
Experience in Adobe Captivate, Articulate, or similar online development application
