Merck Regional Community Ecosystem Engagement Leader - West in Nashville, Tennessee

Job Description

The Regional Community Ecosystem Engagement Leader will spearhead a dynamic team focused on customer and key stakeholder engagement across the HIV ecosystem. This role covers organizations in the HIV ecosystem such as Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program Clinics, Community Health Centers, Health Departments, and Community-Based Organizations. The leader will be responsible for driving appropriate utilization of the company’s HIV portfolio. The Regional Community & Ecosystem Engagement Leader will be pivotal in advancing the company’s purpose and ambition within HIV while supporting the professional development of their team members.

This is a field-based position that is responsible for covering the West Region of the United States.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Management

  • Recruits and hires talent to build a high-performing and customer-centric Community & Ecosystem Engagement team.

  • Ensure team is allocating and using resources appropriately to engage with Allied Health Professionals (AHPs) and for AHPs to use with their clients.

  • Maintains accountability and adheres to our Company’s business practices, regulatory policies, legal requirements, and compliance guidelines.

  • Sets clear expectations for individual and team performance, routinely evaluating impact and offering clear guidance to maximize performance.

  • Observe team and customer interactions providing feedback and coaching to enhance performance.

  • Foster a positive team culture that encourages innovation, collaboration, and professional development.

  • Promotes inclusivity and fosters a culture of psychological safety and belonging.

  • Foster an environment that supports growth and development while recognizing and celebrating individual and team achievements.

Account Management & Strategic Planning

  • Lead the development and implementation of regional business plans to drive product adoption.

  • Partner with team to develop account-level plans to improve engagement and increase product adoption.

  • Collaborate with Sales Director of Commercial Operations and Customer Team Leads to drive customer-centric engagement that can augment sales through greater customer and ecosystem understanding, and integrated planning and execution.

Ecosystem Understanding & Engagement

  • Builds and maintains strong network of stakeholders in the HIV ecosystem.

  • Gather insights from customers and key stakeholders to identify high-impact engagement opportunities.

  • Participate in community educator identification to ensure alignment with corporate objectives.

  • Develop deep understanding of customer’s evolving HIV priorities and support with relevant resources to address care treatment related gaps and barriers.

Reporting & Evaluation

  • Utilize data analytics and business intelligence tools to track team performance.

  • Leverage insights to refine strategic account planning and enhance execution effectiveness.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in public health, Healthcare Administration, Social Work, Nursing, Business, or a related field (Master’s preferred).

  • 6+ years of experience in HIV community engagement, pharmaceutical sales, healthcare account management, or public health.

  • First-line leadership experience is a plus.

  • Experience working with Ryan White-funded programs, Community Health Centers, Health Departments, and HIV Service Organizations is a plus.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Strong account management and customer relationship skills.

  • Understanding of HIV treatment and prevention strategies, health equity, and social determinants of health.

  • Proficiency in data analytics and business performance tracking to monitor account success and treatment trends.

  • Ability to develop and execute strategic engagement plans aligned with business goals.

  • Excellent presentation and communication skills for training and stakeholder collaboration.

  • Strong project management and cross-functional collaboration abilities.

Travel:

  • Up to 50% travel required for customer engagement, conferences, and regional meetings.

U.S. Hybrid Work Model

The Company is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this job in certain states and cities within the United States. Final determinations with respect to salary will take into account a number of factors, which may include, but not be limited to the primary work location and the chosen candidate’s relevant skills, experience, and education.

Expected US salary range:

$169,700.00 - $267,200.00
