TEKsystems Network Security Analyst in Nashville, Tennessee

Job Description:

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Network Security Engineer to support the Nashville Department of Transportation (NDOT) in implementing Intelligent Traffic Systems as part of the "Choose How You Move Act." This role involves designing, maintaining, and securing traffic signal networks and infrastructure.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Collaborate with NDOT IT team members to design and maintain traffic signal networks and infrastructure.

  • Implement and manage network security protocols to protect systems from vulnerabilities, cyberattacks, and unauthorized access.

  • Configure and manage security tools such as firewalls, remote access systems, and intrusion detection systems.

  • Conduct regular security audits to identify and mitigate risks.

  • Provide technical advice on network security issues and best practices.

  • Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans.

  • Stay updated with the latest security standards, systems, and authentication protocols.

  • Document network security architecture, operational procedures, and incident response plans.

  • Proven experience as a Network Security Engineer or similar role.

  • Knowledge of traffic security and Intelligent Traffic Systems is highly desirable.

  • Strong understanding of network infrastructure and network hardware.

  • Proficiency in configuring and managing firewalls, remote access systems, and other security tools.

  • Ability to identify and mitigate network security risks.

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), or similar are preferred.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $48.00 - $55.00/hr.
