Robert Half Network Engineer in Nashville, Tennessee

Description

Summary: The Network Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining network infrastructure within a corporate environment. The individual will work closely with IT teams to ensure optimal network performance and security.

Responsibilities:

  • Network Design: Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure, including LANs, WANs, and VPNs.

  • Network Administration: Configure and manage network devices, such as routers, switches, and firewalls.

  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve network connectivity issues, including performance bottlenecks and security breaches.

  • Network Security: Implement and maintain network security measures, such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and access control lists.

  • Documentation: Create and maintain detailed network documentation, including diagrams, procedures, and policies.

  • Vendor Management: Manage relationships with network equipment vendors and service providers.

  • Project Management: Participate in network infrastructure projects, from planning to implementation.

  • Capacity Planning: Forecast network capacity requirements and plan for future growth.

    Requirements

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience with WAN technologies

  • Strong understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, etc.)

  • Experience with network devices (routers, switches, firewalls) from leading vendors (Cisco, Juniper, etc.)

  • Knowledge of network security best practices

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CCNA certification

  • Experience with network automation tools (Ansible, Python)

  • Experience with cloud-based networking (AWS, Azure)
