Amazon’s Direct Fulfillment (DF) team is part of the Supply Chain Optimization Technology team, and owns and operates an order fulfillment channel where Amazon can work with vendors to send orders directly to customers. The DF team’s important goal is to exceed the expectations of all our customers by ensuring that their orders, no matter how large or small, are delivered as fast as feasibly possible, safely, on time, in full...every time. As a backdrop to all of this, we hold the safeguarding of our customers’ data used to fulfill their orders as our highest priority. This Program Manager role will drive the execution of vendor security assessment programs across multiple international regions in Amazon's Direct Fulfillment channel. You'll manage complex vendor assessment workflows, coordinate with regional stakeholders, and ensure consistent program delivery across different markets while maintaining Amazon's high security standards. This role requires strong execution capabilities at scale, excellent cross-geo stakeholder management, and the ability to adapt programs to regional requirements.

You'll manage vendor security assessment programs across multiple international regions, with end-to-end responsibility for thousands of vendor assessments and regional process improvements. Daily execution involves managing multiple critical workflows: 1) Building and providing clear visibility of vendor assessment status and business impact to regional category teams, 2) Coordinating with category teams on high-impact vendor prioritization and seeking their support for vendor engagement, 3) Working with security teams to optimize assessment bandwidth allocation and track progress across regions, 4) Managing complex vendor escalations through established channels, particularly for business-critical vendors requiring special attention, and 5) Drive process improvements to increase efficiency. Success means ensuring consistent security compliance across regions while maintaining operational efficiency, requiring both strong program execution and effective cross-regional coordination. This role serves as a bridge between regional execution teams and program leadership, with focus on delivering results at scale.

The ideal PM candidate demonstrates strong program execution capabilities at scale, with proven experience managing complex programs across multiple regions. They should have excellent stakeholder management skills to navigate diverse teams across different time zones and cultures, and the ability to drive consistent results while adapting to regional nuances. Key attributes include strong data-driven decision making, process optimization mindset, and the ability to identify and implement systematic improvements. This person must be highly organized to manage thousands of vendor assessments simultaneously, comfortable with ambiguity in a fast-paced environment, and able to work autonomously while maintaining high standards. They should show strong ownership of end-to-end program execution, bias for action in driving progress, and practical problem-solving skills for complex operational challenges.

Key job responsibilities

Own and execute vendor security assessment programs across multiple international regions, managing vendor assessments while ensuring consistent delivery and quality

Build and maintain cross-regional visibility through effective reports and metrics tracking; provide regular updates to program leadership and regional stakeholders on progress, risks, and business impact

Drive regional execution by coordinating with category and security teams for vendor assessment prioritization, and managing complex escalations requiring special attention

Lead process standardization and improvements across regions; identify operational bottlenecks and implement solutions to increase program efficiency while maintaining security standards

Analyze program data to identify trends, propose solutions for systematic issues, Partner with product teams to translate vendor feedback into requirements, and contribute insights to improve program effectiveness and vendor experience

Develop and maintain escalation frameworks across regions; manage high-impact vendor situations that require balance between business continuity and security compliance requirements

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 4+ years of program or project management experience

  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

  • Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams

  • Speak, write, and read fluently in Japanese

  • Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization

  • Experience in process improvement and standardization

Preferred Qualifications

  • PMP

  • Background in vendor management, security/compliance, or risk management programs

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $66,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $142,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
