Located in the Nashua, New Hampshire area, this position is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity to work for a company that recognizes and rewards hard work. This position is for candidates with the ability to prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation and be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. Candidates who can participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules reporting processes will be preferred for this role. This position is ideal for someone with a complex understanding of Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets.
How you will make an impact
Assemble journal entries and thorough account reconciliations that include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll
Partake in a variety of department-wide initiatives
Maintain, implement, and adhere to internal controls. Also ensure that accounting procedures comply with GAAP
Maintain intercompany transactions, billings, and reconciliation
Conduct month end close and compose journal entries with minimal supervision
Manage depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation
Assist with the month end, quarter end and year end closing process by preparing monthly financial close workbooks
Regularly maintain and reconcile journal entries
Prepare analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for management to report on
Maintain capital lease and monthly payment schedules
Special projects and impromptu reporting, upon request
In-depth experience with reconciling month end balance sheet accounts
Coordinate and analyze a variety of financial data, then report it in a way that is useful and understandable
Requirements - Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills
Ability to handle multiple projects within strict deadlines
Competent with spreadsheets and databases
Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment
Attention to detail and proven ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
Proficient with spreadsheets and databases
Proficient in ERP systems
Skilled in analytical, quantitative and social skills
3+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience
Construction Accounting experience
Staff Accounting Bulletin 2014 experience
Proficiency in Sage 50
Sage 100 experience desired
Adeptness in Leadership development
Sage 300 experience
