Robert Half Accountant in Naples, Florida

Description We are in search of a diligent Accountant for our operations in the Construction/Contractor industry. This role is a permanent employment opportunity, where the selected individual will be tasked with maintaining and analyzing our financial records, handling customer inquiries, and managing customer accounts.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately and promptly process customer credit applications.

• Keep customer credit records up-to-date and accurate.

• Ensure timely adjustment and preparation of journal entries by reviewing general ledger accounts.

• Conduct account analysis and reconciliation tasks, including bank statements and intercompany general ledger accounts.

• Maintain the general ledger charts of accounts.

• Assist with initial evaluations of internal controls.

• Post accruals on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis.

• Manage job cost aspects to ensure effective financial management.

• Handle the closing processes for month-end, year-end, and trial balance.

• Prepare and present income and balance sheets for the organization. Requirements • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is required.

• Prior experience in a similar role within the construction/contractor industry is crucial.

• Proficiency in Job Cost accounting practices is necessary.

• Understanding of general accounting principles and financial regulations.

• Familiarity with accounting software and Office Suite, particularly advanced skills in spreadsheet software.

• Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail.

• Ability to interpret and analyze financial data.

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• High level of integrity and professionalism.

• Ability to meet strict deadlines and work under pressure.

• Capacity to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately.

• Must be proactive, with the ability to problem-solve and make sound decisions.
