Key Responsibilities:Instruction & Training
Develop and applyinclusive, student-centered teaching methodstailored tocommunity college learners.
Providehigh-quality instructionusinglectures, group activities, and hands-on demonstrations.
Incorporateinstructional technology and distance learningto enhance student engagement.
Assist indeveloping and updating curriculumto reflect industry standards and law enforcement best practices.
Maintaina strong record of teaching excellencewith a focus on student success.
Program Leadership & Institutional Engagement
Assist theProgram Directorin managingtraining programs, student progress, and faculty coordination.
Establish and maintainprofessional relationships with law enforcement agencies, technical advisory committees, and community partners.
Participate indepartmental planning, assessment, and student success initiatives.
Serve as a key liaison betweenCWI and Idaho POST (or equivalent state certification agencies).
Professional Development & Compliance
Ensureadherence to Idaho POST regulations, IDAPA rules, and accreditation standards.
Maintainlaw enforcement certifications, professional development, and ongoing industry training.
Actively pursueCareer Technical Education (CTE) certificationsas required for the role.
Promotecontinuous learning and best practicesin law enforcement training and education.
What We’re Looking For:Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degreefrom an accredited institution (required).
10+ years of law enforcement experiencein good standing.
Current or retired POST certification(federal or state-level, in good standing).
Prior experience instructing POST-certified coursesor teachingcriminal justice at the post-secondary level(preferred).
Certifications & Compliance:
Idaho POST Instructor Certification(or equivalent from another state).
Familiarity withIdaho POST rules, regulations, and IDAPA policies.
Ability to obtain aCTE Limited Occupational Specialist (LOS) certification within 6 monthsof hire.
Commitment topursuing a CTE Standard Occupational Specialist (SOS) certification within 36 months.
Skills & Competencies:
Strongcommunication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
Ability to adapt tovarious teaching methodologies, including hands-on, online, and hybrid learning.
Proficiency withMicrosoft Office, instructional technology, and online learning platforms.
Experience working withadult learners and community college students(preferred).
Physical & Environmental Requirements:
Ability tohandle, qualify with, and instruct on various firearms.
Willingness tomaintain physical fitness standardsfor law enforcement training demonstrations.
Occasional exposure toenvironmental hazards, unprotected heights, or moving machinery.
