Civil Engineering Intern

As a Civil Engineering Intern, you will learn practical on-the-job experience and spend the majority of your time working with design engineers in the office, with opportunities to learn skills and gain experience that you may not have in school. We ensure that our interns have the opportunity to spend time in the field as well, often interacting with contractors, sub-contractors, residents and regulatory staff members. It is our goal to provide a training ground for interns to assist them in stepping into the field with practical knowledge upon graduation.
What you will be doing:
Assists with the preparations of plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
Assists with construction observation, construction staking, and construction admin.
Assist with calculations, estimates, plan specs and modeling.
Perform administrative related duties such as documenting field work and assisting with regulatory permitting applications.
Travel to work sites and other project related locations, as necessary.
Attend meetings with Clients, Regulatory Agents and contractors.
What we are looking for:
Enrolled in an accredited program for civil engineering and actively pursuing completion of degree.
Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D.
Able to apply civil engineering concepts to problem solving involving site design issues.
Able to work well in a team environment.
Well organized with the ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
Able to work part-time during the academic year and/or full-time during the summer.
