Description:
Position Summary:
The coordinator is responsible for the implementation and operation of the Point of Care Testing Program, Laboratory Quality Programs, and Laboratory Education and Competencies. They will assist in facilitating quality assessment and improvement activities for Muskegon, Grand Haven, and Shelby, compiling necessary data in collaboration with the laboratory leadership team. Additionally, the Coordinator will ensure all regulatory compliance requirements are met in conjunction with the leadership team.
What the Laboratory Point of Care and Quality Coordinator will need:
Bachelor’s degree in medical laboratory science, or related discipline
MLS ASCP or equivalent registration
2-5 years minimum laboratory experience
Five years of progressively more responsible clinical experience in the laboratory in a coordinator or supervisory role preferred
What the Laboratory Point of Care and Quality Coordinator will do:
Serve as Quality Assurance Coordinator for Trinity laboratory services within local hospital system responsible for oversight of the quality management program per CAP.
Helps determine appropriate QA measures; monitors data from pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical processes throughout the lab, as required by accrediting agencies.
Writes and maintains all policies and procedures related to quality, education, and safety in the laboratory.
Works with colleagues to gather data for QA and ensure timely reporting.
Assists with regulatory compliance, maintain colleague records, and may be responsible for the laboratory general CAP Checklist.
Provide support and coordination for Inspections and Inspection agencies.
May be responsible for running KATA and RCA/ACAs for the laboratory.
Troubleshoot, consult, and resolve problems concerning Laboratory QA, including QA meeting coordination, meeting minutes, and quarterly reports.
