The Position
The Head of HR Management is responsible for the implementation of GBS HR Strategy in alignment with Global strategy to drive growth and profitability at the GBS Country level.
This is a unique opportunity to drive customer engagement and execution excellence by leading all HR activities including benefits, compensation, staffing, organizational development, employee relations, operations and others relative to the GBS Business/Functional unit through cross-functional collaboration with the country Business/ Functional head and in alignment with the GBS standards and guidelines.
Duties and Responsibilities:
STRATEGY
Set short term local HR priorities and operating plans based on defined guidelines/ methods from GBS HR in consultation with GM or Country Management Team
Implement corporate compensation and benefits strategy and policies in the country
DRIVING BUSINESS RESULTS
Create solutions for highly complex and multi-faceted HR problems and enable achievement of business objectives
Implement standards and continually review local country guidelines for human resources
Ensure compliance to relevant laws on basic working conditions, safety, health and environment. Provide internal controls for verifying compliance to the company’s policies and applicable laws governing the collection, use, and disclosure of HR workforce data
PROCESS/CROSS-FUNCTIONAL COLLABORATION
Work closely with the GM or Country Management Team as operational business partner to provide them with timely information and recommendations
Negotiate and counsel on an expert level, justify controversial positions and demonstrate advanced persuasion skills
Determine best solutions to issues as related to the country in consultation with Regional HRBP (or country HR Team) for issues that require unique and complex solutions
Provide guidance and counsel on human resources development activities and developing strategic plans to address the required critical skills to achieve company objectives
BUDGETING AND COST MANAGEMENT
- Manage headcount planning and personnel cost budgeting in consultation with the GM or Country Management Team by owning HR functional budget at country level in order to ensure compliance to the approved budget
HR OPERATIONS
Protect the corporation and represent the company at appropriate levels in local business and social communities, as well as internally. Assuring that the company values and policies are upheld and complied to, and that the company’s processes are implemented as appropriate. As the highest HR authority in the assigned business/functional area (s) at the country level, the position ensures compliance with the company’s Code of Conduct and sets an example of uncompromising ethics. Ensures local legislation is complied to at all times
Main contact person with the local government/labor authorities with direct responsibility to ensure full implementation of local HR laws and principles within the relevant business areas, operations and organizations. The position manages conflicts through appropriate and effective communication
Advising managers on employee related matters such as grievances, disciplinary actions, and recruitment and selection
Develop and maintain a good working relationship with managers to remain current with business/operational changes and demands
PEOPLE
Build an effective country HR team committed to delivering stretch targets and achieving both short-term and long-term business objectives
Provide clarity on the goals and objectives to be achieved by the team
Ensure development of skills and abilities through ongoing feedback, coaching and training/development opportunities
Oversee and drive overall performance management and talent management of the HR Services team
Identify development needs of team members and facilitates individual development and career progression
LEADERSHIP/SUPERVISION
Ensure implementation and compliance to the Performance Management / Talent Management / Compensation Planning, for the year
Ensure that there are development plans for direct reports and that they are being implemented on the agreed timelines
Ensure that talents are properly identified and that they are discussed in the cross validation and succession plans
Ensure that proper coaching is provided during the MAG discussions (midyear, year-end, or whenever the need arises).
About our Future Employee
We are looking for candidates with:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or in any relevant field of study. Master’s degree is highly preferred.
Knowledge and experience with the most current theories and practices within multiple related professional disciplines, such as Organization Development, Compensation & Benefits, Performance Management, Talent Management, Leadership Development, Learning Management, Change Management and Labor Law/Industrial Relations.
Experience in managing multi-disciplinary projects with corresponding change management.
Good business acumen with strong grasp of financial impact derived from HR decision/policies
Ability to build strong partnerships with both regional and global stakeholders.
Comprehensive knowledge of the company’s business areas, structure and organization, as well as of the external market (competitors, trends, etc.), is highly preferred.
