Job Summary

Responsible for overseeing the successful completion of projects, including the creation, organization, execution, and completion. This includes managing project teams, setting deadlines, communicating with management and executives about the state of the project, ensuring projects stay on track and on budget, and adjusting if necessary to meet new requirements. Drives all aspects of project lifecycle, including collaborating and coordinating across the organization and EPMO Governance teams.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage Projects
    • Drive large, complex, cross-functional projects from inception through planning, resource acquisition, execution and lessons learned; including mergers and acquisitions.
  • Apply the consistent application of all standard project management methodology processes, tools, and documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure EPMO established processes and procedures are followed in relevant projects, including task management, change management, issue tracking, status reporting, and risk management support.
  • Contribute to project management policies.
  • Create procedures, requirements, and training programs for project teams.
  • Provide reports to management regarding the project team and process compliance and status.
  • Responsible for project schedule as reflected in project plan, escalating to appropriate management when there are delays in items, activities and deliverables as stated in the project plan.
  • Participate and/or leads quality team efforts to continuously improve processes and methodologies resulting in improved efficiency and project delivery in terms of time, budget, and customer satisfaction.
  • Responsible for ensuring the team is working together to achieve the most important goals and support project owners.
  • Serve as Project Consultant
    • Effectively coordinate numerous projects, manage different stakeholders, mitigate challenges and work to achieve the desired outcome.
    • Provide project management guidance and governance for projects by monitoring project activities, ensuring appropriate escalation and reporting of timeline status, risk assessment and budget variance.
    • Oversee all activities associated with the program to ensure goals are achieved.
    • Consult and coach project teams, support and engage senior leaders, and coordinate efforts with other specialists.
  • EPMO Governance
    • Responsible for the creation and timely reporting of EPMO metrics to all governance teams.
    • Lead the EPMO Governance team.
    • Lead the EPMO Executive Governance team and presentations.
    • Collaborates closely cross-functionally across the entire organization.
  • Pursue professional development and training opportunities to ensure the Bank's environment and personal skillsets remain future-proof and forward-thinking.

Relationships and Contacts

The Project Manager reports to the Strategic Transformation Manager and works closely with the Strategic Transformation team. This position interacts with bank-wide subject matter experts, project teams, and technology groups. Frequent contact with senior management can be expected.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
  • Banking experience preferred
  • 5-10 years of previous Project Management experience required; larger, digital transformation, Salesforce, and MandA experience is a plus
  • PMP certification or equivalent designation desired
  • Experience in various PM Methodologies (waterfall, iterative, agile) and managing such teams

Skills and Qualifications

  • Familiarity in the application of project management principles
  • Strong and proven coordination and project management skills
  • Expertise in conflict resolution
  • Proficiency with related software tools including but not limited to Microsoft 365, Smartsheet, and project management tools
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, written, presentation and verbal communication ability with senior stakeholders including ability to negotiate priorities and expectations in order to align engineering/product goals with customer needs.
  • Flexible and adaptable; able to work in ambiguous situations
  • Resilient and tenacious with a propensity to persevere
  • Forward looking with a holistic approach
  • Organized with a natural inclination for planning strategy and tactics
