About the Role

Title : Technical Business Analyst

Grade Level : 10 (or as applicable)

The Team

Our team is building a data intelligence product that links, cleans, and structures datasets from disparate sources — helping data teams and clients derive value from messy data and attain data interoperability. Our cross-functional team brings together data engineering, product design, automation, and customer insight to deliver high-impact solutions.

As a Business Analyst, you will play a key role in shaping how our product handles complex data workflows, ensures linking accuracy, and integrates seamlessly into client environments.

The Opportunity

This is a high-impact role ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of data, systems, and product thinking. You’ll be responsible for deeply understanding how datasets flow through our platform, what linking logic is applied, and how to translate business needs into technical stories. Your work will directly influence product usability, scalability, and client success.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and define business requirements related to data ingestion, transformation, and linking workflows .

  • Translate those requirements into structured user stories, data flow diagrams, and clear documentation for engineering and QA teams.

  • Work closely with data engineers to understand data models, schemas, and integration points .

  • Define acceptance criteria and edge cases for how datasets should be matched, linked, and verified.

  • Partner with QA and product to validate accuracy of linking outputs and end-to-end data workflows.

  • Map out the lifecycle of a record through the systems — from ingestion to linking to final delivery — and identify gaps or redundancies.

  • Maintain detailed, up-to-date documentation of business logic, entity definitions, and dataset dependencies.

  • Use tools like Postman or SQL to inspect API responses or query datasets to support requirement validation.

  • Facilitate UAT and integration testing with a data-centric lens, ensuring that test cases cover real-world use cases.

  • Help establish internal standards for dataset quality and linking performance metrics.

Required Qualifications

  • 4–7 years of experience as a Business Analyst, ideally within data-intensive SaaS environments.

  • Solid understanding of data workflows, structured datasets, and basic data transformation concepts .

  • Experience working with data platforms, Python, Data Science projects, ML, ETL pipelines, or entity resolution systems is highly desirable.

  • Comfort working with product and engineering teams in an agile setting — with strong backlog grooming and user story development skills.

  • Excellent communication skills to interface with both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Ability to analyze API payloads (e.g., JSON), navigate large datasets, and draft basic queries in SQL.

  • Familiarity with workflow tools like Confluence, Azure DevOps.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience working on data linking, entity matching, deduplication , or metadata management projects.

  • Exposure to tools and techniques related to record linkage, fuzzy matching, or rules-based matching logic .

  • Understanding of common data quality challenges (e.g., duplicates, missing values, inconsistencies).

What’s In It For You?

  • A chance to influence the design and scalability of a next-generation data intelligence product.

  • The ability to shape how data links are defined, validated, and scaled across use cases.

  • Collaborative work with engineers and data scientists who value clarity, logic, and elegant solutions.

  • Ownership of key parts of the product lifecycle, from concept to production.

What’s In It For You?
