KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Product Planner shapes the future direction of Videojet printers by identifying market segments, unmet needs, and competitive opportunities. Responsible for overseeing product launch processes, including concept feasibility and regulatory compliance. Collaborates closely with business unit managers and teams to develop a 5-year roadmap aimed at achieving revenue targets and capturing a larger share of the marking and coding market.

  • Define long-term product strategy based on market segmentation and customer needs.

  • Lead the discovery of innovative opportunities by understanding customer challenges and translating them into product enhancements.

  • Develop and manage the Product and Technology Roadmap for assigned product lines.

  • Drive the creation of pricing models and market requirements documents.

  • Facilitate continuous customer validation throughout the product development process.

  • Oversee initial tollgates in the product launch process, ensuring concept feasibility and regulatory compliance.

KEY STAKEHOLDERS AND PERFORMANCE INDICATORS:

  • Collaborate closely with global stakeholders and top leadership to align product strategies with company objectives.

  • Present product vision and strategic insights to the Senior Leadership Team to drive decision-making.

  • Establish rapport with customers to understand market problems and validate product concepts.

  • Adapt to changing market dynamics and redirect resources optimally to maximize product impact.

  • Successful execution of the product roadmap within specified timelines.

  • Achievement of revenue targets for assigned product lines.

  • Positive feedback from customers regarding product features and performance.

  • Effective collaboration with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

WITHIN YOUR TEAM

You will join the New Product Development and Planning Team. This team is responsible for shaping future product direction, executing product plan and managing sales growth and P&L for product lines. Reporting to the Product Head, you'll work and collaborate closely with associates across departments to ensure seamless delivery.

The Product Planner should exhibit strategic thinking, driving long-term product strategies aligned with market segmentation and customer needs. Additionally, the ability to adapt to changing market dynamics and redirect resources optimally is crucial for maximizing product impact and achieving business objectives.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR A PROFESSIONAL WHO HAS:

  • Proven Experience in Product Planning and Development: The ideal candidate should have a track record of success in product planning, development, and launch, preferably within the marking and coding industry or a related field. Experience in overseeing the entire product lifecycle, from conceptualization to commercialization, is highly desirable.

  • Strong Analytical Skills and Market Research Expertise: Proficiency in conducting market research, utilizing analytical tools, and interpreting data to drive informed decision-making is essential.

  • Effective Cross-functional Collaboration: Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset, enabling them to work seamlessly with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and global counterparts. The ability to communicate product vision, gather feedback, and align stakeholders towards common objectives is crucial for success in this role.

  • Strategic Vision and Adaptability: Strategic mindset and the ability to envision long-term product strategies aligned with market trends and customer needs. However, flexibility and adaptability are equally important, allowing the candidate to navigate changing market dynamics and adjust strategies as needed to drive business growth and innovation.

YOUR EDUCATION AND BACKGROUND EXPERIENCE WILL INCLUDE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering & MBA from a reputable institution (Tier I): The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Engineering complemented by an MBA from a Tier I institution. This educational background provides a strong foundation in both technical and business disciplines, essential for effective product planning and strategic decision-making.

  • 5-7 years of experience in product planning, management, or related roles : Candidates should have a proven track record of 5-7 years in product planning, preferably in the industrial printing or coding industry. This experience demonstrates a deep understanding of market dynamics, customer needs, and product lifecycle management, essential for success in the role.

  • Strong Analytical Skills and Market Research Expertise: The candidate should have demonstrated proficiency in analytics and market research methodologies, enabling them to gather and interpret data effectively. Previous experience in product management roles highlights the candidate's ability to leverage market insights to drive strategic decision-making and optimize product offerings. Additionally, excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities are essential for effectively conveying insights and aligning stakeholders towards common objectives.
